Step back in time and go back to colonial Manila at the Casa Manila.
Nestled in the Plaza San Luis Complex in the Intramuros, this sightseeing secret is a replica of an 1850’s building that has been restored and shows how the wealthy Spanish used to live. The mansion features a wide-sweeping staircase, ivory statues of the saints and now hard-to-find hardwood floors and beams all polished and gleaming.
Casa Manila is open from Tuesdays to Sundays. Plan your visit with a meal at Ristorante delle Mitre, which is about two minutes away – their food is a mix of Filipino, Italian and Spanish and the dishes are named after archbishops! It’s a good place to refuel after a busy day sightseeing.
